'Inner Light', sometimes written as 'Innerlight', is a modern waterlily from America which performs really well in our British climate. It produces numerous double-petalled yellow blooms which are held high above the foliage on sturdy stems, giving the exotic look of a tropical waterlily. In warm, sunny weather, these blooms show glowing peach overtones towards the centre of the flower (hence the name). It also has an exceptionally long bloom period - it is always one of the first lilies to flower in spring, and one of the last to go dormant in autumn. The leaves are attractively marked with purple when young, and mature to a deep green. In mild winters the plant remains largely evergreen.
