Leaf size: well-fertilised plants can achieve leaf sizes of 30 - 40cm (12 - 16 inches) in diameter.
Recommended water depth over soil level: 5 - 8cm (2 - 3 inches)

This is a large, handsome lotus variety with blooms 20cm (8 inches) across which are held high above the foliage. These blooms are changeable, opening pink flushed with yellow, and fading over successive days to predominately yellow (see pictures).
A note on taxonomy: The RHS considers Nelumbo 'Mrs Perry D Slocum' to be a synonym for Nelumbo 'Boli Furen'. 'Boli Furen' is a Chinese translation of 'Mrs Perry D Slocum' so we have stuck with the original name here.
